In the past decade, Bryn Kenney has come to be known as the high stakes tournament player that you would not want to meet at the final table. From his humble tournament beginnings back in 2007, he has amassed quite the track record, not only making cashes year in and out, but final tables at that to boot. Kenney has undoubtedly withstood the test of time where others were not able to continue and build upon their streaks.
The life of a high stakes tournaments player has its extreme highs and lows. But Kenney's resilience to this day shows that he has found a knack for thriving in these circumstances. While he has recorded plenty of 1st-place finishes in other tournament series, Kenney enters the 49th World Series of Poker looking for his second bracelet with his one and only bracelet dating back to the 45th WSOP in 2014 at the $1,500 10-Game Mix event.
Kenney's start to 2018 started off with a bang making twelve final table finishes. During that span, he has collected $3,850,251 and climbed his way up the All-Time Money list to 8th surpassing the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Scott Seiver, and John Juanda. Kenney has his eyes set on closing in the roughly $2 million gap separating him from the next members on the list in Phil Ivey and Fedor Holz.
That gap has now become smaller with his most recent cash-in the $100,000 No Limit Hold'em - High Roller event in the 49th World Series of Poker 2018 at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas. He finished in 5th banking a total of $646,927. Although the finish was not what he had anticipated, this minor setback will not alter his competitive nature as he continues to search for his second WSOP bracelet. Perhaps, we shall see him compete in some of the events in which he has found success in the past such as the $10K H.O.R.S.E. event. Or we may see him go back to his high stakes roots where he is most comfortable attempting the $50K No Limit Hold'em High Roller and The Big One for One Drop event in mid-July!
